2018 Ride Report

If our 2017 ride was remembered for the fearsome wind, 2018 goes down in history for perfect weather conditions.  The morning started with a fine mist which soon gave way to a nice bright day with light winds (OK, a few riders got soaked on Buttertubs – but it was very localised!).

Our 2018 ride was a sell-out with all 200 places taken.  Two thirds of our riders took on the 55 mile ride, and one third braved the 87 mile route.  Almost half of our riders took the trouble to give written feedback at the end of the event – and the comments were outstandingly positive.  You can read a small selection below which gives you a snapshot of the event in our riders own words.

Once again, we were privileged to start and finish our ride at the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham –  the perfect event venue.  And again, we were able to feed our riders with homemade fruitcake, Wensleydale Cheese and Betty’s Fat Rascals (amongst many other goodies), washed down with a fine pint of Black Sheep beer and a hot meal at the end of the ride.

Last but not least, we raised £9000 for Wooden Spoon.  A magnificent sum which will be used to fund projects in Yorkshire to help disadvantaged children.

Well done all, and thank you for your support.  See you in 2019!
