Welcome to the Black Sheep Big Spoon Bike Ride in aid of Wooden Spoon charity

The date for our 2022 ride has been announced.  It will be take place on Sunday 12th June 2022.

And once again our event is sponsored by the totally brilliant Black Sheep Brewery.

If you have joined us before, you will know that our emphasis is on having fun and a grand day out in the fresh air.  Our charity bike ride is renowned for its fab feedstations (Bettys fat rascals, Wensleydale cheese, homemade fruitcake soaked in brandy……) and, of course, a delicious (free!) pint of Black Sheep ale and a hot meal at the end of the ride.

Come and join us and you will be made very welcome whether you are on your own or riding with a group of friends – and whether you are a regular rider, or a bit rusty!  And if you want to look the part, our friends at Force GB have helped us create some magnificent cycling tops – highly visible on the road!  Take a look here and click on “Club Shops”.  £10 donated to Wooden Spoon for every top purchased.

We have designed our two routes so there is something for everyone.

Our 87 mile route will keep regular cyclists happy!  The route starts from Masham and heads out through Swaledale and back via Wensleydale.  There are glorious views along the way…..as well as plenty of hills.  This will be a challenging day out.

Our 55 mile route is still a challenge, but it is designed with plenty of places for tea stops!  The route also starts from Masham, and you will get the same glorious views…. but fewer hills!  If you haven’t been on your bike for a while, and you need a worthwhile target to train towards, this is the route for you.

We can’t guarantee the weather, but we can guarantee you fresh air, a friendly welcome and a fine route.  All in aid of charity.

It’s worth watching the brilliant video of our ride.  And you can see photos of our previous rides on Facebook (click on the social media links at the top of this page).

Come and join us – we’ll look forward to seeing you.
