Welcome to the Black Sheep Big Spoon Bike Ride

2019 Ride: Date now officially confirmed….it’s Sunday June 9th 2019.  Applications for entry open in January 2019.  See you there.

A special welcome to all newcomers – and a warm welcome back to our “old faithfuls”.

If you were on our 2018 ride (or even if you weren’t!) you can read about the ride and some of the great feedback from the day in our 2018 report and see some photos from the day in our 2018 ride photos.

If you have joined us before, you will know that our emphasis is on having fun and a grand day out in the fresh air.  Our ride is renowned for its fab feedstations (Bettys fat rascals, Wensleydale cheese, homemade fruitcake soaked in brandy……) and, of course, a delicious (free!) pint of Black Sheep ale and a hot meal at the end of the ride.

Come and join us and you will be made very welcome whether you are on your own or riding with a group of friends – and whether you are a regular rider, or a bit rusty!  We have designed our two routes so there is something for everyone.

Our 87 mile route will keep regular cyclists happy!  The route starts from Masham and heads out through Swaledale and back via Wensleydale.  There are glorious views along the way…..as well as plenty of hills.  This will be a challenging day out.

Our 55 mile route is still a challenge, but it is designed with plenty of places for tea stops!  The route also starts from Masham, and you will get the same glorious views…. but fewer hills!  If you haven’t been on your bike for a while, and you need a worthwhile target to train towards, this is the route for you.

We can’t guarantee the weather, but we can guarantee you fresh air, a friendly welcome and a fine route.

Come and join us – we’ll look forward to seeing you.
